Automated waste sorting plant

Project
Plant production

Location
Macerata (MC)

Plant capacity
30.000 t/year

Light Multimaterial planned flow rate
7-8 t/hour

Paper/Cardboard planned rate
9-10 t/hour

PAL – A new successful experience, developing a highly flexible, easy-to-manage line with the dual objective of processing Multimaterial Plastic and paper.

The plant, was waiting for a number of technical and administrative permits to start its waste treatment activities but it is now fully operational, and its testing has satisfactorily confirmed the performance expected by PAL and, above all, by the Committee.

The automated plant stands out for its state-of-the-art technology. The bag opener is automatically loaded via a dedicated overhead travelling crane. The operator in the control room simply verifies that no anomalies or stoppages occur

Considering that the ingoing multimaterial plastic has an impurity level of 35-40%, the testing results were more than satisfactory. The foreign fraction of the plant’s outflow has dropped to 5-6%.

The hourly inflow rate performance highlighted an increase of over 40% compared to planned flow rates: 10-11 t/hour compared to the requested 7-8 t/hour.

At the testing stage, a high efficiency level was also reached in recovering ferrous materials, non-ferrous metals, Conip plastic crates, tanks, drums, films.

In this case too, the paper/cardboard flow reached rates that exceeded planned ones, with values in the 9-11 t/hour range.
